London District Catholic School Board, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the City of St. Thomas-Elgin, is pleased to announce the newest EarlyON Child and Family Centre for St. Thomas-Elgin. Located in Monsignor Morrison Catholic Elementary School, this dedicated EarlyON space will be operated by the YMCA of Southwestern Ontario.
Funding for this project is provided by the Province of Ontario. Renovations are expected to be complete in January 2022.
EarlyON Child and Family Centres offer free programs to parents and caregivers and their children from birth to six years of age. Centres welcome families to participate in programs that help strengthen adult-child relationships, support parent education and foster healthy child development. Qualified professionals can help families and caregivers find support, get advice, make personal connections, and access a network of resources.
“Hard-working families deserve access to safe and affordable high-quality child care,” said Minister of Education Stephen Lecce. “By building a new EarlyON Child and Family Centre at Monsignor Morrison Catholic Elementary School, our government is providing real support to St. Thomas-Elgin parents and preparing their children for lifelong success.”
